Howdy folks. With the countdown to VMworld now on I thought i would write a quick post on my recommended sessions for VMworld. Im obviously biased towards vSAN as there are going to be some great sessions.

To start I would take a look at vSAN Technical Customer Panel [STO2615PU].

Peter Keilty is an SE Manager and has a great understanding of customers requirements and how vSAN fits into their needs. This should be fantastic.

Jeff Hunter and Jase McCarthy are well renowned in the vSAN world and this breakout session should be really beneficial for anyone that is thinking about implementing vSAN in their datacenter. Once you see Easy install and Config assist you will be blown away with how easy this whole vSAN thing is 🙂

Yes another vSAN design one however another one not to be missed. Josh Fidel can give fantastic practical advice about vSAN design as this is his bread and butter. Go to this one.

Conducting a Successful vSAN 6.x Proof of Concept [STO2652BU]

Want to ensure you dont have any performance issues in your vSAN environment. Then plan properly. Having a POC is kind of like taking a car for a test drive for a week so you really know what your getting. This session will be great with Dave Morera sharing his in depth knowledge of vSAN

The Top 10 Things to Know About vSAN [STO1264BU]

Duncan Epping and Cormac Hogan giving us the top 10 things to know about vSAN. This is kind of like having Pearl Jam and Nirvana playing on one night together. This session will be great.

Honey, Where Are My Keys? Understanding and Avoiding Common Issues with Virtual Machine Encryption [SER1392BU]

Finally a session that is not vSAN related. In this session James will speak in depth about VM Encryption. James has a great approach to simplifying any topic. Trust me, this session will make you wiser.

Shameless plug for my own 2 sessions with Javier Menendez, vSAN Troubleshooting Deep Dive [STO1315BU] and vSphere Troubleshooting: Tips and Tricks [SER1289BU]. Both of these sessions will be in depth trouble shooting advice for vSphere and vSAN.
